After a few very good years for acorns our land in northern Vermont became inundated with chipmunks. Their characteristic chirping could be heard most of the day and I started to keep my big lens permanently attached and ready to go. I watched this chipmunk for a few minutes as he climbed a thin branch, pausing often to look for danger.
